Nasser Al-Attiyah joins Prodrive for 2024 season

Nasser Al-Attiyah, the reigning World Rally Raid Champion, has confirmed his signing with Prodrive, marking an exciting new chapter in his career. The Qatari driver will join the British team with his regular co-driver, Matthieu Baumel, to compete in the 2024 Rally-Raid season and the next Dakar Rally, which will take place in Arabia.

Under the name ‘Nasser Racing’, the duo will look to continue their success at the wheel of Prodrive’s Hunter T1+.  Prodrive President David Richards expressed his delight at having Al-Attiyah and Baumel join the team, saying:

«To have Nasser and Matthieu, the reigning Rally-Raid World Champions, come with us for the 2024 season in the Prodrive Hunter is great news.»

Al-Attiyah shared his excitement at joining Prodrive saying:

«It’s a very special feeling to come to Prodrive as I have seen over the last three years that the team has worked very hard to get to where they are now with the Hunter. I am very happy to be joining the Prodrive team with Mathieu, because I think it will be one of the strongest teams in the sport. Over the years I have won with three different manufacturers in Rally Raid, but to win with a fourth car is a big goal for us. We are really looking forward to it.»

Preparation for the next Dakar will include participation in the Baja Portalegre 500 and the Dubai International Baja. In addition, Prodrive has announced that there will be another five Hunters in the next Dakar, bringing the total number of cars in the Prodrive Dakar bivouac to seven.

This exciting signing promises an action-packed and exciting 2024 season for both Nasser and the Rally-Raid world.
